Zhu Ye Xiang, or Bamboo Leaf Aroma, is named because this varietal's raw leaf has a long and skinny shape that looks like a bamboo leaf. Its cultivar by fragrance classification is actually orchid aroma and Zhu Ye is known as the "Kind of Orchid Aroma". This Zhu Ye is an aged Dan Cong tea from 2016 and it's from our farmer, Farmer Liu. It's not, however, a common practice to aged Dan Cong teas, only farmers with either a larger production yield or come by a really good tea, they will hoard a few pounds. For local Chao Zhou people, aged Dan Cong is usually consumed for its medicinal purpose. We were able to get 2 pounds this year to share this rich and complex tea.
