White Clay Kohiki Teapot

Regular price $68.00
Origin: Jing De Zhen, China
Material: pottery

This pure white Teapot has an elegant and minimalistic look. It’s made by a Japanese pottery methodology called こひき or Kohiki, in short it means bowls covered completely with white clay which has a powdered appearance in places. The white clay could be slightly saturated by tea oil and tea color over time and produce a slight “cracked” effect, although some may naturally already come with certain cracked effects and will deepen over time. This teapot has a decent volume of 170ml even though it seems small. The sprout is very well designed and made so that liquor doesn’t drip after pouring. It’s made by a local artisan in Jing De Zhen, which is the cradle city of ceramics and potteries in China.
Dimension: height 3in, 4.3in, volume 170ml
