Full Description
This three year old Shou Mei offers an amazing fruity fragrance of plum and apricot. Even though it's only three years old, it was charcoal roasted when it was first produced in 2018, and charcoal roasted white teas tend to result in better aged teas. You are guaranteed to sense the difference immediately when you sense the fragrance even before you brew the tea! With a beautiful golden tea liqueur, this delicious loose leaf Shou Mei is from our white tea producer farmer Wen, who does only charcoal roast teas.
Fu Ding and Zheng He in Fu Jian are both the world’s birthplaces of white teas. The most popular and prestigious styles are Silver Needle (all buds), Bai Mu Dan (one bud with one or two leaves), and Shou Mei (three leaves with few buds). Among these three grades, Shou Mei actually ages the best as aged white tea thanks to its big leaves and twigs. Its aged tea tends to turn out to be the sweetest, but rarely it also turns out to be fruity.
