This Gaiwan with two tea cups set has two different hand painted koi fish designs on them. It's an original design from a local artist in Jing De Zhen, who focuses largely on subjects from nature that are popular in Chinese culture, such as lotus flowers, koi fish, crickets, persimmon, etc. This set is also a summer special inspired by lotus flowers and koi fish in small ponds in Chinese garden. These skillfully hand painted Gaiwans also have smooth texture with a slight icy ceramic crazing effect on the surface. The Sun Flower Moon Face Gaiwan is also from this artist.
