It's an original design from a local artist in Jing De Zhen, who focuses largely on subjects from nature that are popular in Chinese culture, such as lotus flowers, koi fish, crickets, persimmon, etc. However, this sunflower design is a summer special from her this year. The Koi Fish Gaiwan is also from her. These skillfully hand painted Gaiwans also have a moon face texture (which is also called Peacock eyed in China) with a slight icy ceramic crazing effect on the surface.
