Thick viscosity on the palate, delicate sensation but with strong exotic herbal scent accompanied by sweet fruitiness of plum and peach.
Ice Tea Instruction
Every 1 gram of tea for 50ml of water, and allow steeping 1 to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Three ways of brewing this tea:
This is a white tea from Yun Nan made by tea leaves from Pu Erh trees but processed as a white tea. Its leaves are much bigger compared to white teas from Fu Jian, and as a fresh tea, it already offers a strong fragrance and a rich complex flavor. This tea comes from Meng Hai area in Yun Nan, where many tea farmers deep in the mountains are nestled.
Unlike white teas from Fu Jian, Pu Erh white tea can not necessarily be aged for as long as it can. The best time to consume Pu Erh white tea is between 1-5 years after harvesting. After 5 years, such tea will rather lose its flavors and fragrances.
Brewing Instruction Gaiwan & Teapot
Gai Wan or ceramic pot
Add 5gram/1 tbsp
95 C / 205 F
Add 8oz water and infuse for 3 min.
Repeat for another 4+ infusions and increase the steeping time by 30 seconds with each additional infusion
Gai Wan (Recommended for best infusions):
Rinse leaves and discard the first infusion
Add water and infuse for 10 seconds
Repeat for another 8+ infusions and increase the steeping time by 10 seconds with each additional infusion
We strongly encourage experimenting with different quantities, steeping times and tea wares to find your most desired result. However, avoid over heated water, as it will over-extract the bitter compounds and astringency of the tea, whereas water that’s too cool might not fully extract the aroma and flavor.
