Full Description
The Osmanthus Aroma from 2022 is one of the best that we have encountered in years. It's slightly baked at a higher temperature level, and it's sweeter with a more potent osmanthus aroma, while having a superb flavor balance. It is one of the 10 major Dan Cong aromatic groups, and it’s known for its signature sweet osmanthus aroma both in fragrance and in tea liquor, yet with a creamy mouthfeel. The osmanthus sweetness is unique to its own and it’s very different from the sweetness from Honey Orchid Aroma, for instance. Osmanthus is a yellow flower of tiny flower petals that grow in Southern China, and it’s famous for its natural floral sweet notes. It is also often used in Cantonese cuisines for deserts. The Dan Cong Osmanthus Aroma tea is named after such flower because it mimics its fragrance.
Local tea scholars and connoisseurs from China studied and categorized these Dan Cong teas into hundreds of aromatic subgroups. Its aroma is never artificially added or perfumed but exclusively cultivated, and each aroma comes from tea plant’s natural aromatic compound.
