Tea pets are also known as tea lover's pets, which serves as a symbol of good luck on the tea table or tea tray as well as for being playful. Tea pets are usually a small figure of animals or Chinese mythical creatures that are made of Yi Xing clay, or also known as purple clay, from Yi Xing town in China. Tea pets are poured by hot water before brewing or tea residue. Because it's made of Yi Xing clay, the clay's color will be deepened and become more radiant over months or years of time as it gets saturated by the tea liquor.
